Students will study life events and art of Pablo Picasso

Technology:

  • PowerPoint
  • Senteo clickers

Activities:

Day 1:
  • Journal: List as many shapes as you can, if you cannot spell it, draw it.
  • Show powerpoint with Picasso's art and life events.
    • begin with vocabulary 4-square
    • go through picasso art (see teacher notes)
  • after viewing Picasso's art, the slides transition into brainstorming and outlining the room art assignment
  • When all students understand the assignment, work time will be given for students to begin sketching out their design.

Day 2:
  • Students will begin by taking Quiz #4 on Senteo Clickers
  • after all students have completed Quiz #4, go over answers and answer questions
  • Students have the remainder of the class period to complete their room art assignment.
    • When students have completed, a rubric needs to be glued to the back and the assignment handed in.
  • Students that finish early will read or work on other assignments quietly

Evaluate:

The lesson was evaluated using a rubric for the students completed "Room Art"
A quiz was also given to assess student learning of Monet, Van Gogh, and Picasso
