Activities:

Day 1:

• View Norman Rockwell video clip
• Show Norman Rockwell's art and describe his life experiences with students.
  • Remind students to be filling in artist data sheet

Day 2:

• Students will complete a gallery walk on computers to view and read Norman Rockwell's art.
• Go through an example with students before letting them begin.
• Students will have the entire class period to work
• Students that finish early will read or work on something quietly.
• exit slip: How is looking at a painting like reading?

Evaluate:

Students will be evaluated on their reading art worksheet, their exit slip, and teacher questioning during work time.
